Building with us
The following is an overview of the process for getting a pool built with Jakara Pools.
Step 1: Design and quote
Brett will come to your proposed pool location and discuss what type of pool you would like. Once you are comfortable with the proposed design of the pool, a quote will be provided. At this point, not all aspects of the pool need to be decided. Things like tile selection and colour of pebble coating can be decided later in the process. Allowances are made for common choices in these areas.
Step 2: Contract
Jakara Pools use the standard Master Builders Association Pool Construction contract. Details from the agreed quote will be moved to the contract. Upon signing of the contract, a deposit of 5% will be required to commence construction.
Step 3: Council approval
Jakara pools will seek approval for the construction of the pool at your property with council through an engineer & a building certifier. Construction cannot commence until approval has been received.
Step 4: The dig, form up and concreting the shell
A day prior to the dig, Brett will come to the site and mark up where the pool will be located. Last minute adjustments to the layout of the pool can be made if required. The next day, weather permitting the dig equipment will arrive and commence digging the pool as agreed. Shortly after the pool has been dug, the crew will commence forming up the pool structure. This is where steel bars are tied up to provide structural support for the pool. Required forming up is also put in place for the concrete.
Finally, a crew will arrive to lay the concrete in the pool. The concrete is a special type that is quick setting and clay like allowing it to be trowled onto the walls of the pool without falling away.
Once completed, the concrete is allowed to cure for approximately 4 weeks.

Step 5: Tiling
While the concrete shell is curing, the tiling for the pool will be completed. Coping tiles are placed around the waters edge & body tiles around the rest of the pool if required. For fully tiled pools, the internal of the pool will be tiled. For pebble interiors, the waterline tiles if required will be installed.
Step 6: Fencing
Prior to filling the pool with water, a fence must be installed. The building certifier arranged by Jakara Pools will supply a certificate stating that the fence meets all regulations.
Step 7: Pebble interior application
Once the shell is cured, your chosen pebble interior will be applied.
Step 8: Water fill and filtration
The final step is to install the filtration equipment and fill the pool up with water. A handover of your pool & equipment will be given with an initial chemical treatment. You are now ready to go swimming.
